First established in 1950s, Jhama Sweets had a small and humble start in Chembur’s Sindhi Camp. Suleman Usman Mithaiwala, Mohammad Ali Road

The popular bakery and sweet shop is where you go for Malpua. But Suleman Usman Mithaiwala, located near Minara Masjid offers some other specials too that you can gorge on all-year. Sulemanbhai was a bakery assistant who came to Mumbai from Pune and set up shop outside the masjid. Eventually, in 1936, his small shop became a larger outlet and it still stands in the same location. This mithai shop is the spot to get the best aflatoon in the city, along with a variety of halwa.

We came across Prashant Corner post relentlessly bothering our colleagues for reccos and we are glad we did! Of course their mithai offerings are great but we also enjoy their yummy sharabats and thandai on a sweltering hot afternoon. Another fact to appreciate about this sweet shop in Mumbai is that they also have satvik options available and even a few options for consuming during fasting.

Morbiwala

Morbiwala has been around since 1964 so you can consider it one of the iconic mithai shops in the city. What we really like about this one is that their mithai is quite unique so expect the most unheard combinations like khajur waffles, jelly katli, oreo crunch barfi, cranberry pak and of course your OG mithai options like boondhi ladoo, malai pedha and balushahi.

Sweet Bengal
